The Jinbei 甚平 is a traditional Japanese clothing worn in summer. It consists of two pieces of loose clothing and used for work, stay at home or attend traditional summer parties.
The jacket is crossed and tied in and out with some twine. The sleeves are wide and has an opening at the shoulders to let in air and thus be cooler. The pants are wide with pockets and ties at the waist with a cord. They are made with fine linen or cotton fabric and are ideal for those hot summer days. It usually has all kinds of designs, from simple drawings to striking designs with bright colors.
The advantage of Jinbei is that it is very easy to wear compared to Yukata, and it is comfortable enough to be worn the whole day even with activities indoor or outdoor.
